The Roku HD-XR is worth every penny; I started with the first roku box and bought the HD-XR for my living room. Right now the first one is still awesome with the new upgrade but it looks like it has the potential for more outstanding media ready upgrades. I find them both well worth what I paid for them, since I'm not missing cable tv, now, at all. And that extra usb port, may be well worth tinkering with... ;-) Enjoy!
Forget the Kindle DX - just wait for the new Kindle 3 to come out this month. It will save santa a few pennies in the process!
